Whether you require WiFi hotspots for use by passengers and staff or large scale implementation of real time passenger information across geographic regions, we have the capability to assist you.
What are the benefits?
Accurate travel information, on-board or before travel, is given to both passengers and staff.
Screens in passenger compartments as an outlet for travel information, news and entertainment provide marketing and product placement opportunities - with a re-sale value.
Passengers and staff are enabled to use WiFi hotspots - a real competitive advantage for business travellers and staff.
Recent projects
We were responsible as technical compliance and acceptance body (for Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Executive - GMPTE) for a real time passenger information and operator fleet management system using GPS, GSM/GPRS and wireless LAN technologies implemented across a fleet of 1000 buses in the Greater Manchester Region. Our work included review and approval of product design documentation and witnessing all FAT/SAT tests on the system. The system hardware included the central controlling system, the on-vehicle systems, on-street systems and the vehicle-tracking GPS system.
We have carried out the procurement and implementation of a passenger information and entertainment system for a large train operating company including the tender process, project management and engineering.
We supported successful trials for an innovative project regarding internet connectivity, real-time travel information and entertainment services on-board intercity trains.
We managed the operating company and infrastructure company engineering interfaces during the handover of the Metrolink franchise from an incumbent to a new operator. Work included negotiation of asset register and condition, and assistance in formulating and negotiating claims.
