Our technical consultancy activities cover engineering, risk and safety and range from provision of advice on pure engineering issues to development and management of complex system assurance projects.  Unlike many consultancies, our engineers not only possess an enviable track record of the traditional railway disciplines, but also have class-leading experience of safety and risk management as applied to railways.

Lloyd’s Register is perhaps best known for its long history in independent verification and validation (IV&V).  We have used this expertise to create a family of independent assurance services that are second to none in the railway sector.  These range from IV&V of new, multi-billion dollar, high speed railways through to product certification of safety critical components and systems.

To complement these services we also offer a transportation-focused suite of management consultancy services, ranging from development of business strategy to resolution of economic and corporate management issues.
